Owners Chris and Nancy Iott
Iott’s Greenhouse is a family owned business that was started in 1989 by Chris and Nancy Iott and their six children. The first greenhouse was a 10 X 12 wooden structure that Chris remodeled from a hog feeder. We grew a few annuals for friends and family. That first year was such a success that we expanded.
During this time the movie “Field of Dreams” was playing in local theaters. The theme from the movie was “If you build it he will come.” Due to our rural location our theme became “If you build it they will come.” Our children gave up their “ball diamond” in the front yard so our first 30 X 100 hoop greenhouse could go up in 1990.
Through the years we have put up and torn down homemade wooden greenhouse structures and replaced them with more modern houses. We have grown to 38,000 sq ft of greenhouses!
Our niche in the greenhouse market has been growing new and unusual plants, carrying the Proven Winners plant material, having unique hanging baskets & planters, and carrying a large selection of perennials. These things along with having friendly staff and great customer service have helped us grow a successful retail and contract growing business.
Our children who live locally come and help with the greenhouse when they have time off from their real jobs. Our 14 Grandchildren are BONUS workers, who each have special jobs helping Grandpa and Grandma.
Our employee’s are dedicated family members and close friends. With out them we wouldn’t be where we are today. Each year we are certified through the Proven Winners program to bring you quality plants and knowledgeable services.
